Angst
Environmental angst and psychological alienation can blend into one spiral of despair. Perhaps we ought to be grimly and resolutely optimistic?

Covid
It is easy to forget just how frightening and awful the Covid epidemic was. During lockdown I was lucky enough to have a garden in which to observe and draw inspiration from. So, no grand vistas, no landscapes, only a very constricted set of horizons. Here are some of these pictures. I hope you will find them, in some small way, an antidote to the division and culture wars that some amongst us seem to delight in waging.

Emley Moor
Skelmanthorpe has a hidden gem of an art gallery, the Shat Gallery (which is, apparently, an affectionate term for Skelmanthorpe). Their team of two hard working and experienced volunteers put on a rolling programme of exhibitions that are well worth a vist. As Emley Moor mast can be seen from the gallery, I thought I should include my take on that iconic landmark.

Playing with Colour
Sometimes it is simply the colour itself that prompts an emotional response. I also think it helps (maybe) if the image has another theoretical background. Some of these images are prompted by my undergraduate training in the sciences and they have epistemic overtones.
